Working under the direction of the Controller, in connection with the Inspections Manager, to ensure that all aspects of the inspection scheduling and project permitting are efficiently and accurately performed while maintaining good relationships with customers and co-workers.
Job Duties/Responsibilities for Inspection and Permit Coordinator:
- Creating and assigning inspection agreements with our Customers for Fire Suppression and Fire Alarm Inspection Division
- Scheduling inspections with customer and subcontractors
- Preparing inspection schedule for inspection technicians
- Set up and maintain customer files
- Handle occasional over the counter fire extinguisher sales (training will be provided)
- Coordinating and Submitting Plan Review and Permit Applications to Authority Having Jurisdiction for fire suppression and fire alarm reviews
- Determining permit costs for projects during bid phase for Project Managers
- Scheduling Inspections with City / County / State upon Project Manager requests
- Follow up on Open Permitting and reviews with various jurisdictions
- Various other administrative tasks
Requirements for Inspection and Permit Coordinator:
- Self-motivated learner with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with owners, property managers, and subcontractors.
- Ability to be prompt and courteous when interacting with co-workers and customers
- Ability to work under pressure in a changing environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Minimum Qualifications for Inspection and Permit Coordinator:
- Minimum 1 year of office experience
- Understanding of general office etiquette
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Microsoft Office, Outlook Scheduling and PDF software proficiency
Travel Requirements for Inspection and Permit Coordinator:
- No overnight travel required.
Work Location Options for the Inspection and Permit Coordinator:
- 5 days a week in Mt Morris, MI
